Halloween Hikes - Top 5 Creepy Climbs

It's that time of year again! Halloween is approaching and we have the best spooky trails to get you ready for the festive season.

5 - The Devil's Bit, Tipperary

Legend has it the Devil took a bite out of the mountain and lost a tooth giving us what we now know as the Devils Bit Trail. A spooky back story for a spooky trail

4 - 12 O'Clock Hills, Clare

Clare has the highest rate of Banshee reports in Ireland so what better place to spend halloween than in the company of one of Irelands most feared legends. The banshee wailing warns of death in a house so listen carefully for the screams.. or not

3 - Sliabh Bawn, Roscommon

While not traditionally a haunted hike, Sliabh Bawn is the perfect setting to sit and swap ghost stories of Hangwoman Betty, Irelands first Hangwoman who freed herself from execution by offering to be the executioner. A perfect story to get you in the mood for halloween.

2 - Diamond Hill, Galway

The Dullaha is one of the scariest myths to come from Irish history. The Dullaha is a headless horseman who brings death to where he stops. One of the only stories of someone outsmarting The Dullaha is from Galway so what better place to spend halloween than the place The Dullaha will look for revenge. Just remember to keep a gold coin in your pocket and you will be safe.. for now.

1 - Hellfire Club, Dublin

The Hellfire Club in Dublin is linked to satanic rituals and is said to be the home of the first Stonemasons lodge in Ireland. This summit can be creepy at the best of time during the day so one can only imagine how creepy it will be during spooky season.
